The American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery (AECOS) exists to improve vision care and patient experience by harnessing the innovation, knowledge and ideas of leading experts.

The AECOS annual symposium in Europe brings together world leaders in their field for open debate and discussion. An invite-only event, it offers an opportunity for surgeons, entrepreneurs and business leaders to discuss the latest techniques, technologies and industry developments. Topics discussed at the recent conference included concepts for improving patient outcomes and uses for the IC-8® Small Aperture IOL.

Sharing ideas on running a practice

At the Symposium, which took place in Berlin between 31 May and 3 June, Allon Barsam took an active part in a series of seminars on running a vision correction practice. It was a wide-ranging debate that covered a range of topics, from the value the lead eye surgeon brings to their own practice, to the importance of having a long-term plan for investors.
